The Hare in the Chair is a traditional upholstery workshop on the outskirts of Bristol specialising in hand-upholstered heirloom and antique furniture. Projects include rebuilding Victorian and 19th-century chairs with webbing, hand-stitched horsehair and animal-hair pads, linen scrim and calico, sometimes refitting original covers, and making horsehair-filled squab cushions to historic patterns. Careful pattern placement and minimal fabric waste are part of each commission.
